gday, building the hk scaled for 18" subs, using 1" mdf and not sure what to make the window out of or thinkness of it?
my thoughts were plexiglass 1/2" thick so that i can sink it halfway into the front of the box keeping everything flush but will 1/2" be thick enough?

If you are loading two drivers, one on each baffle like the true isobaric loading, the 1/2" will be fine. I would want to go to 3/4" if you were only loading one of the baffles, regardless if you were using one driver or two.

Jody,
I originally thought that the window was for assembly of the drivers depending on which configuration you choose, but looking at the plans again, all the drivers get mounted from the outside, not the window side. The only other reason for the window would be for wiring the drivers. So if you don't need access to the drivers then don't cut the window out. I have the plans but have not build this thing yet.

Hi John

A huge thanks that brings more clarity  ;)
do you perhaps have the standard port sizes for the 12 inch version?

Thanks in advance
Best Regards

I don't.
I am not sure you can scale it down like that. The port should have at least 1/3 of the drivers diameter. Length is something you might have to experiment with. Below is a link to a 6th order band pass calculator. You might be able to figure it out from that.
