dual speaker placment ( pic )

here is a "crude" drawling of my question to you,
in the pic it shows placment of the top speaker in the db 12
wich drawling is correct, a-left or b-right?

the pic shows arrows on the speakers, pointing to wich
way they should be wired to hit.
are they correct?

I am not 100% shure wich subs I will be using,
as im building this box for his trunk ( 76 impala 4 door )
and he wants a total of 6 12" woofers, = 3 dual loaded boxes.

he already has the subs in a terrible box, and it sounds like poo,
im guessing they are cheap o subs / or nothing special at least,
and want to provide them with as much cooling as I can,
so they wont get too hot and fry.
wich design will offer the best sound, and cooling to
the top speaker?

any thoughts are appreciated.

Yep you have the right idea about reversing polarity of 1 driver in your second box.
Get it wrong and you wont hear much at all! and run the risk of frying the drivers.

Cooling benefits of 1st box to 2nd box, almost none?

You could suggest that the second box has a larger volume of air in it (albeit still trapped) allowing more heat transfer from the VC and magnet assembly than your 1st box option..... Although any difference will be rather minimal.

cool, im probly going to build the speakers to match up like picture A
just because thats how most db 12"s that are dual loaded are built,
it works for others I guess.,

now the wiring of 6 subs 4ohm svc each,
I have figured out how to wire them to achieve a 2.6 ohm load on the amp,
and a 6 ohm load on the amp, but I was wondering if there are any more options?
and end up somewhere around 4 ohm load using all 6 subs?
is it possible?

only option i see is to use pairs of subs in serie for an 8ohm and then paralell them to 2.66ohm. you could add 10pcs paralell 22ohm/10w (resistors, or what you call them;)) in series with the subs to get about 4.66ohm.. those 22ohm/10w would handle around 500wrms..
have used that several times when amp doesnt handle a 2ohm load..

but then again i dont like using subs in series, they usually dont play `linear` or how to say... something with the coils doing something with the other subs....hm...my english sucks today..hehe....
ok...if you put 3+ subs in series and connect last wires, +/- , together and push one of the subs somethings funny happens with the other two..
everytime i`ve used subs in series they dont move synchronous(?) as they do in paralell..so thats why i use the 22ohm/10w instead

mount both the speakers 'either side' of the same piece like a clamshell

you know using resisters inline with speakers does not give them any more power. The speakers will be receiving the same amount of power and the resisters will just be trying to dissipate the other power as heat. It's physics. Also lowering the load on the amp just makes it less efficient and the signal not as clean
