JL 12" W7 in Deathbox

I thought I have seen this question asked here before, but I can't find it. I have a JL Audio 12" W7 in their signature HO Wedge box design. It hits pretty hard and sounds good, but it is huge and heavy. How does the Deathbox fair against this? Would a W7 be too much woofer for these boxes? This thing is about 10 inches from mount to magnet and weighs 45 pounds.

The 12'' Deathbox under Steve's speaker heading here on the website says that the box measure's 14''x14''x32'' hope that helps.  Dave Smiley

i don't think you would have problems. you can mount the sub with the magnet in the sealed side.
i've always wanted too see a comparison between the HO wedge and the deathbox...
i'd say total weight of the jl + deathbox =  ??? 130 lbs ??? 140 lbs  ???
the deathbox is also big, as DaveCan said. i like the db-10 better just because it's smaller.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The HO wedge is the heaviest box+Speaker combo I have ever dealt with. Not to mention that its in my '04 Jetta GLI, with hardly any room left at all. I will make some measurments to see if I can fit it in. Who knows maybe you'll have your HO Wedge VS Deathbox challenge.
