Corner Horn Drivers

I have recently created a driver for the Corner Horns that beats out everything I've tried to date.  It is a highly modified Fostex fe167e where the QMS has been raised by the addition of a second surround (convex poly foam).  Frankly I was shocked at the improvement this made.  The bass tightened up and flattened out.  The mids lost the small peaks and the efficiency went unchanged.  The unmodified Fostex was okay in these horns, but a bit wooly in the bass.

I will be making these drivers and offering them on the web site soon.  I will also be able to rebuild yours if you send them in.

When you hear these in the horns, as everyone who attends Decfest this year will, you will not believe the performance, especially the bass performance, is possible from a 6 inch driver that isn't even moving enough to see.

These drivers are an absolutely MUST have for anyone building these cabinets.

Do you know what value the QMS is raised to?

Have you tried the larger magnet/non-shielded versions (FE166E or FE166ESR) yet?

BL of 6.82 tesla/m goes up to 8.33,

Qts goes down from 0.31 to 0.21 (FE166E).

FE166ESR (NLA?) has even bigger magnet...

Do you have any freq response graphs?
Old FE167, new FE167?
Or Old two-way?
Or original four driver version?

The ones in the white paper pdf are blank...

Thanx!          Robert  :)

Driver modification is so fascinating and seemingly arcane.  I love this stuff.
