Hi all,

For a couple of years now I’ve been getting a loud pop through my speakers at first turn on after biasing the EL34s in my Torii Jr (original, not Mk2). This happens even with new tubes. I’ve been managing this by waiting a couple minutes after turn on to connect the speaker wires, but every once in a while I forget to wait and get jolted awake by the pop. Is this maybe a problem with the bias pot itself? If anyone has any troubleshooting tips or ideas as to what the problem might be, I’d love to hear them. If it’s a matter of opening up the amp, I’ll probably send it in for service.
