Efficiency

My TAD ME-1 speakers are rated at 85 and run at 4 ohms. I sit about 6 ft  away from the speakers in a 15x 11 room and never run the volume of my Zen triode amp past 1 o’clock. Listen to music at 80db no problem. Also have lil song open baffles and run amp at about 3 o’clock. Can’t see what I’m missing with the less efficent speakers which most reviewers warn against.

I think this may be more about the frequency response of your speakers than the efficiency. Even though your TADs are less efficient I'm guessing they have a lot more bass than the open baffles, so you don't need to play them as loud to get the sound you want. And sitting 6' from the speakers in a small(ish) room makes up for a lot of inefficiency.
