Ground loop trick

Angela-Gilbert Yeung has something that might help people with ground loop problems.

Dunno if it works or not, but it looks like it might.

Interesting. I'd be curious to hear if anyone has tried something like this. Seems like a complicated setup, but I can understand the maddening quest to eliminate hum.

I believe that in my system cable quality is so important that it definitely outweighs any hum issues present. I would try this with cabling made identical to that I have now. . . but now I can't afford the cabling I have now. It might work, but the quality of the cabling will be key in my system. Hope that makes sense.

That does make sense. I use either Decware DSR3 or Signal Cables Silver Reference interconnects. Both are high quality, silver and copper, but not insanely expensive.

I have put more energy into moving towards a fully balanced, XLR system than upgrading cables. But not sure about that strategy either.

I have had the Decware cabling, earlier and DSR3. . . what I am using for the last twelve years or so, a full loom of VooDoo Cable Stradivarius XLR and RCA cabling (cryo'd UPOCC copper and UPOCC silver conductors--no plated copper) I much prefer. . . I would not be able to afford matching that now (and they do not make XLR to RCA cabling).
