Chris Isaak Baja Sessions on Vinyl

In celebration of its 30 year release, the Baja Sessions album by Chris Isaak will be released for the first time on vinyl by Sun Records.   It’s offered in baja blue colored vinyl.  While  I am not a fan of colored vinyl… I believe this is the only offering as of now. The album is a pre-order only item and is set to be released around October 23, 2026. Visit your favorite online retail or RSD indie retailer to secure your copy ( geez….I feel like a salesman). This is a favorite of mine, so I’m going to take advantage of the preorder and placed an order on the Darkside Records website out of Poughkeepsie, NY.

I remember when I first got into Decware and browsing their website… Steve featured the song “Dancin” (which came off of the Baja Sessions album) on his site when he was showcasing the ZOB speakers.

Here’s a throwback YouTube link of the Decware studio featuring the FRXbdrivers in the ZOB’s

It's great when something is reissued that you were eager to have a new copy of. I'm not very interested in this artis, but when John Coltrane's "Crescent" was reissued on LP a few years ago I was excited to pick that up. And it sounds better than the noisy old  early reissue I have.

Right now
Benny Goodman "Sing!Sing!Sing!" French CBS cd

Vibraphone – Red Norvo
Vocals – Maria Marshall

Recorded Live on the West Coast. (1959?)

Marian McPartland "At Storyville / At The Hickory House" Savoy/Denon cd

Some very early Joe Morello on the Hickory House tracks and also early RVG live recording there.

I couldn’t agree with you more.  Here’s the backstory…My ZStage was my first piece of Decware gear I bought back in the day, so I was browsing the website regularly; that was back in 2013.  The Decware FRX Driver YouTube video with that song really stood out.

Ironically enough due to licensing… The Baja Sessions album was not on Qobuz at that time, so I had to subscribe to TIDAL in order to stream the album.   That has now changed, but it was never released on vinyl… Until today so for me it’s exciting.

HK has seen him live in concert… So if he ever came back around, I would love to see him. He is touring this year, but he’s playing at a concert festival down in South Jersey. That’s not my cup of tea… I would much rather see him in a small venue by himself.
