Modwright modded OPPO BDP83. This player functions as it should and sounds absolutely fantastic!! The bass is big, bold, and tight. The midrange is more punchy, musical edges are rounded and not sharp and shrill, yet the highs sit right where they should.

This modified OPPO 83 paired perfectly with my UFO. Gave it a bit more “push and bottom end,” so much so that it allowed me to part with my ZROCK2. This presentation sounded more “natural” than the ZROCK2.  I own 2 other Modwright “tube based” CD players and have since sold my UFO, so decided to sell this.

I actually preferred this to my tube CD players with the UFO as it was just a tighter presentation. I can’t stress enough how much punch and bottom this will give your UFO to really fill out your sound in a great way, hence why I’m also advertising it here. This player punches WAY above its weight class! I liked it better than my old Rega Saturn, and I A/B’d them more than once. I was all about records and streaming until I discovered these Modwright modded CD players. I’ve owned three and they are all outstanding. I spend most of my time listening to good SACD’s now. I actually prefer the sound, even over a good record.

I just installed a new CD Tray belt and it functions as it should and will last for another decade or more. I don’t have the original box nor the remote. There are plenty of remotes for sale online if that is important to you. I will pack very well and ship upon payment.
