Advice on streaming transports

Hi all, looking for some advice on streaming and transports. I currently have a Volumio Rivo connected to a Weiss DAC 204 via USB (I also have a Border Patrol DAC with USB input that I mix in). I don't have any local files or purchased files, I just stream from Qobuz. I would prefer to just use Qobuz connect for the convenience factor but using the native app on a streamer doesn't bother me. I also have a Bluesound Node N130 in another system so I have experience with that too.

Problem is: I find the streamer (the Rivo, and the Bluesound too) crashes or needs to be rebooted constantly. Mostly it just won't work at all the first time without the reboot, but occasionally it will crash at the end of an album or track. I have contacted product support and they have said the normal things about updating apps and ensuring right outputs enabled, but reliability has not improved.

So a few things may be true, and I can't help wondering which:
1. this is just the world of streaming over the internet and even if you have a fast fiber connection it's going to happen fairly frequently
2. Volumio Rivo is buggier than other streamers and I should get something else. Are there any that folks are think are good combinations of quality and stability/reliability
3. Is it more likely that there is something I am doing wrong, or something in my setup is causing lower reliability (perhaps my router is problematic, maybe my streamer and DAC don't get along)

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

I’ve had great luck with the Cambridge CXNv2 and CXN100. I only stream and the Cambridge StreamMagic app has been flawless for me, both for Qobuz, internet radio, and the occasional television or DVD sources. I find the built in DAC to have a magic I’ve only found with a significantly modded Musical Paradise DAC, but CXN’s will output to your DAC if you like what you have, and Cambridge makes a streaming transport if you don’t want their DAC at all.

FWIW my internet comes from a telephone line and RS232 type connection to a cheap router and it streams high-res just fine.

Thank you. I was thinking a good route might be a combo with less to go wrong might be a fix. I have heard great things about about the Cambridge digital gear too.
I still remain curious if people just tolerate this streaming transport thing for any good reason or not.
