Lon, I wonder how much of that Google AI review is actually coming from Google looking your posts on the Decware page and giving them back!

I have been loving my Cetron 845. For me, the Cetron seems a little tighter in the bass, a little more controlled, which is welcome.

But I have been wondering about some of these Linlai 845s or even the PSVane Summit. Not enough to try them out right now, but perhaps some time in the future.

Once I put in the current tube I had no thoughts of that stock one at all!

I moved on to the Shuguang 845-T Nature Sound Treasure Series. A very nice noticeable SQ improvement that I am very pleased with.

Edit to add: being old, now awake and not able to go back to sleep, I did a search for my stock tube and found it--it's just an "845," NOT an "845-T," which is re-assuring to me as I didn't remember it as a "T". . . .

Bummer about Elrog. My Elrog 845s are head and shoulders better than any other 10V triodes I've tried in my STR. I lucked into a well used, deeply discounted pair down the freeway a bit and at least one of them as been in the STR ever since. As good as they are no way would I pay full price for a pair, but if anyone happens to find a used pair at a decent price I would run, not walk, to acquire them.
