Hearafter, I've just listened to Anders Soderlund playing Bach's Toccata and Fugue and the bass in my system has taken a significant leap after adding the sluggo to my system, in both power and especially dynamic range. With the sluggo in the Dynagrid Jr., this has definitely has become a super rectifier. Bravo, Steve.

By the way, if I didn't have my system connected to my EcoFlow, I wouldn't be taking this risk. Otherwise I would have had to order another SDFB and graphene sluggo to feel I could reasonably safely take the risk.

Well my Graphene Sluggo remains AWOL and I sent all my other Sluggos off to another of us crazy forum members so I'll continue to be safe and not use a Sluggo without an SDFB. And the SDFB that I could swap out from the audio/visual system really does sound so good there in my PS Audio P15. . . and the SDFB is not the right value for the Jr.

If somehow money magically appears or I get the right frame of mind to sell a bunch of tubes and such. . . maybe I'll get another SDFB and Graphene Sluggo. But that's either a long long shot or a long ways away.

Edit to add: I decided to order a Super Sluggo from Verafi Audio and discovered that at the moment their site is not accepting any payment.

Meanwhile with current isolation changes I am really really happy with my system sound, and credit the Jr. for a hefty contribution to that happiness. What a component!

Lon,

That makes complete sense. I may be an idiot but I feel confident that I have sufficient isolation from the wall power to make this a relatively safe bet. However I will probably buy another SDFB and graphene sluggo, just in case. When that might be, I have no idea.

If it isn't too big of a deal to temporarily remove the SDFB from your audiovisual system and then reinstall it when finished, I would still recommend a listen to the Dynagrid Jr. with a sluggo in place. It might surprise you.

It is a real PAIN to move a lot of stuff and get behind the giant cadenza that my wife made me buy and access the P15 and SDFB back there so I have to wait until I have the house to myself to attempt it. In the meantime I'll keep looking for the Graphene Sluggo I have or find another Sluggo to slip in and use. As the SFDB that I could use from the other system is set for 5 amp I don't think using it would be any safer than just using a Sluggo alone.

I'll get there eventually to experiment. I'm rather strapped for cash right now due to a kitchen remodel then a furnace replacement and a recent plumbing ordeal. Sigh. I think there is always a little more to get from a Decware component.

Lon,

If it is a pain, then don't do it. By the way I have an extra Super Sluggo. If you would like me to send it to you, let me know.

I'm listening to the Super Sluggo in my Dynagrid Jr. thanks to the one that Tony leant me.

If I were coming from a stock fuse it would be a big upgrade. It's a subtler upgrade from the Magic Audio fuse I'm using but still a nice little bump in several ways.

The Super Sluggo has really shown its potential this morning.

The sound is fuller and more dynamic than my favorite fuse. Wow. There was just a touch of dryness with the fuse that is no longer here, which is welcome.

I was very frustrated that i could not find the additional Graphene Sluggo I have somewhere here to try in the JR. I contacted Mark because the Verafi Audio website will not accept payments currently, and he arranged to sell me one--I have nothing but good things to say about dealing with Mark. Looking forward to trying that in the JR. probably late this week.

Days later the Super Sluggo is sounding even better! I'll have another journey of breaking in and seasoning when the Graphene arrives.

I put in silver (Golden State) in both my DGJ and STR-104-Mk2 a week ago. A little hot to start but settling. A nice incremental, more purity, more liquidity, but not like the leaps adding the super-rectifiers themselves.

Yes, I tried several silver Sluggos some time back and enjoyed them. . . but they were a little too soft sounding for my system. Trying more than half a dozen different Sluggos my system did best with the Graphene.

I certainly can endorse experimenting with them in the JR. I am sure in some systems they may shine brightest. Personally I don't want to relive those weeks of different comparisons all over again with the JR. I'll stick with either the Super Sluggo or the incoming Graphene when i decide I prefer one or the other.

I've been enjoying this thread. Thank you Lon for kicking it off. I have a DGJ on order and it's been fun reading about your experiences. I originally read a thread from Grooveysauce and his experience having a tube rectifier on his DAC. I was about to pull the trigger on the same unit he has, but the timing was perfect for Steve to start his build thread for the DGJ. I hadn't hit the pay button for the other unit. So it seemed like a no brainer. Mine is getting closer and I'm planning on using it on my DAC. Should be a beautiful thing.

For those of us waiting in anticipation for the ship date, anyone care to share some eye candy of your system sportin' a DGJ?

Well, my Graphene Sluggo from Verafi finally shipped yesterday. Due Friday. I grew so impatient that I did a good thing today that I had postponed: pulled out the cradenza that my audo visual system is behind and swapped the Graphene in the P15 that is the heartbeat of that system out for the Super Sluggo, then put that all back together and went upstairs and installed the Graphene Sluggo into the Dynagrid Jr. in the main system.

Immediately there was a bit more warmth, bass and a laid back feel to the system. And this Sluggo is already broken in, so I am pretty much getting what it has to offer without seasoning and sitting through the changes.

Wow. This is great sound. I'm a happy camper!
