Subwoofer high level connection? (Read 110 times)

Subwoofer high level connection?
Yesterday at 18:36:47  
I am looking to upgrade a sub for my Taboo and wanted to ask what is the best way to connect a sub that doesn’t have high level speaker inputs just low level RCA inputs?  Thanks

If your preamp only has a single RCA output I guess you have to split it. But if it were me I'd insist on a sub that had speaker level inputs. JMO and all that.

CA James, Thanks… Pretty much where I landed but wanted to ask others who may have set it up.  This is my second system with no preamp just the Taboo and Zrock.

Do you think attenuating the speaker output is better than splitting the amp input? To me, the splitter seems clearer, but JMO/YMMV and all that.

Not sure until I listen…so are you saying another option would be to split the source (Dac no preamp) out cables to have one set go to the amp input and the other set goes to the sub inputs?  Thanks

I'd split whatever is connected to amp. You said you have a ZROCK (which is functionally a preamp IMO) so I guess that, but if it is the DAC, then split the DAC. If you have a splitter no downside to trying both.

Thanks CAJames…that will give me a few other options to try out.  Split the  Zrock outs, split DAC outs or add a high level to low level converter. Appreciate your input!
