Hey All, New to the forum. I thought I'd document my zkit1 build.

On my hifi journey I have DIYd a lot of my system. It started with Pass Labs stuff (Aleph J, F5m, M2x) class A solid state, a Pearl 3 Phono Stage and BA2018 line stage with Wharfedale Evo 4.3 speakers.

That stuff sounded amazing and then the tube journey started. I built a Dynakit VTA-ST-70 tube amp and purchased a 300B SET amp, an Ear834p clone phono stage and a Marantz 7 Shigeru Wada (clone) preamplifier and that led me down the path of full range speakers and just finished some Mark Audio Alpair 12.2p pensil speakers.

I love the combo of the full range drivers with the M7 clone and St-70 which led me to wanting to trying some Lii Song open baffles and a Decware Zen SE84UFO2.1 which I went on the list a couple weeks ago.

With all my DIY experience I figured out why not build a zkit1 while I wait!

I put in the order for the Edcor transformers and am going to build it into a Hammond 1441-22BK3 (12x8x2) black case.

I rounded that off with the Solen 3.3uF 400v capacitors, tube sockets, and speaker terminals from Parts Connexion.

For tubes I ordered a matched pair of Svetlana SV83s and a Sovtek 6N1P input tube to get started.

I'll use an IEC socket I have sitting around, a toggle power switch and a fuse holder and instead of PCB mount the RCA inputs and speaker outputs I will chassis mount them.

I'll post some pics as I go along with the chassis hole drilling and layout.
