For sale - Custom built 300B amplifier
06/27/25 at 21:35:29

I am doing some house cleaning to make space in my listening room.
Since many of the customers buying my open baffles own either a Decware UFO or Spud amplifier, I am selling my 300B.

It is built with very good quality parts.
There is a trim pot which makes it VERY quiet, unlike some 300B amps.
Because of the size and weight of the power transformer, I will not ship the amplifier.
If someone is interested, they can audition it in my listening room.

Included are the following 300B tubes -
TJ Full Music perforated plates
Psvane
JJ
Several pairs of 12AT7 driver tubes
The amplifier has solid state rectification

There is no volume control, so a preamp s needed.
I have used a Schiit Audio passive preamp with good results.

Asking 950.00 OBO

PayPal only - I will cover the PayPal fee

For anyone who would like to have a good sounding 300B amp, you won't find anything near this price ..... especially with the tubes that are included.

It will be worth the drive to Kentucky to audition it and pick it up .....

Thanks for looking,
Randy

I have heard it.  It was instrumental in the development of the Sarah 300B amplifier.  You wouldn't be disappointed.

This amplifier is no longer for sale.

Based on the recommendation of one of my customers, I built a pair of baffles using the Lii Song Silver-8 drivers ..... despite the fact that the .QTS parameter is absolutely miserable for open baffle use.

I happened to have the 300B amp in the system when I connected these baffles and the results were WAY better than what I expected.

With the W-15 bass baffle filling in the bottom end, this is a seriously revealing and musical speaker system.

There is no way that I can part with this amplifier now .....

Over the past few months, I have found that component "matching" is even more important than I originally thought it was.

I have three amplifiers ..... a Decware SE84UFO, a "Spud" and the 300B.
Which one sounds "best" depends on the drivers in the baffles that are currently in the system.

All three amplifiers are amazing in their own way and I don't see myself parting with any of them ..... it truly is an embarrassment of riches.

I love this hobby .....

Happy listening,
Randy
