$10,000 For a UFO25?
05/18/25 at 15:50:22

So yesterday I logged on to my Reverb account to create an ad for a guitar I’m planning to sell to fund my new Decware obsession and on a whim, I did a search for Decware gear.

Only two results and the one that caught my eye was an ad for a brand new “still in the box” 25th Anniversary Decware SE84UFO25 for the princely price of $9,850!

Wow.

Wow indeed.

I salute your making the effort to sell a guitar. I need to do that more than several times as well in the future, just haven't summoned the courage yet.

I’ve got several that I just never take out of the case, as well as several amps (at least five low watt amps which gave me the faith in buying one of Steve’s low watt audio amps).  I’m more of a weekend picker and as I get older, play less and less.  It’s time to let someone else enjoy this gear.

Besides, I’m pretty sure I will be adding to my audio chain over the next couple of years and I’ll need cash for that!

I'm in the same boat as far as not playing as much and having some I hardly ever take out of the case, and having more amps than I need. It is just so hard for me to sell instruments and gear, I get so attached to them. Each one has something special about them.

You'll love Decware components.

I’m another guitarist in the same boat. Just can’t summon the courage to actually sell any guitars and amps because of the fear of shipping damage or just getting ripped off. I live in a really rural area and there just isn’t a local market at all.

Rural area here too, and one of the few disadvantages is how far it is from possible markets.

Yes, that’s my dilemma as well.  I purchased quite a few guitars on eBay back when it was relatively safe to conduct business.  I am loathe to attempt that these days and not even sure I’m confident that Reverb is safe.  And it’s not like I have a bunch of cheap knockoffs.

Hey Guys, same here!  I'm a retired picker as well, and have funded all my Decware gear by swapping out my guitar equipment!  My father had an EICO ST70 DIY tube kit amp & tester, that exposed me to the warmth of a tube amp.  Able to do a bit of small repairs on old Fender & Marshalls, which led me to Decware.  Holding on to a few guitars (and Jazz Bass) and a Deluxe Reverb, pedalboard and a Fractal modeler.  Stopped gigging in the 80's!  I've had no problems with Reverb, except when I shipped a Two-Rock Jet head and UPS dropped it pretty hard!  Good luck with the sale, an journey!

There's currently a basically new UFO25 on USAM for ~$3700, so, good luck to them?

Thanks for the Reverb endorsement Karl.  Like the others in this thread, I’m having a hard time letting go of some of this gear…plus, I invested in a really nice humidity-controlled cabinet to display six of them and I bought it because I wanted to display my Todd Krause Custom Shop Strat and Martin HD-32, among others.  So I’m still on the fence as of right now.
