Stradi Tubes - Worth a look!

Thanks to Groovy Sauce and Kamran…I am now a week into using the Stradi 5U4G rectifier tube in my preamp and I have to agree it is exactly how Groovy Sauce and Kamran portray it to be.  Just stunning detail, clarity, 3D soundstage, instrument separation, clear bass punch and timing. Highly recommended here as well.  Stradi (short for Stradivarius ) is easy to work with, and very responsive with good communication.  They take a few weeks to arrive from S.Korea well packed.  At ~$300 it is a great value and competes with tubes more expensive. It is a very modest and compact rectifier in appearance similar to old stock RCA/Sylvania ST tubes but looks very well made.  On a side note: The Stradi rectifier out performs the Space Lab STR-104 mk2 Super Rectifier in my preamp on my system as well.  Thank you Groovy Sauce and Karmran for your recommendations.  I would have never known about Stradi if not for you guys👍👍

Very interesting. If the 5U4G outperforms your STR that high praise indeed.

I already have way more rectifiers than I need for both this life and the next so I'm not buying any more. I see they make a lot of really obscure (mostly European) tubes, I wish they'd make more octal tubes.

CAJames- yes for some unknown reason the STR just didn’t improve the sound on my Supratek preamp but the STR was a significant improvement on my Torii Jr v2.  Go figure? Smiley

Hey Hereafter—-I am glad you liked it!

I have an interesting update to share.  My original 5U4 arced a few days back so I reached out to John at Stradi and he shipped me a replacement.  I’m almost 80 hrs in to burning in the new rectifier and the settling-in time was overall consistent with what I previously reported—approx. 60 hrs.

John also asked me to ship the bad rectifier back and was particular about shipping it back in the original box and mesh packaging it came in—so don’t throw that away!

I should also add that John was extra careful to not ship me a replacement from the last production batch. He asked me to wait a few days until they produced another batch of rectifiers, so my new one is literally right off the production line.

Melon Playground is one of the best sandbox games on mobile right now. Tons of tools, realistic ragdolls, and complete freedom make it super enjoyable.

I'm using Stradi AD1 in my other amp.  Excellent tubes.  I was using EML and wasn't happy.  the vintange Tungsrams were good at about $800/pair on ebay.  But the Stradi are better.   very happy.

Now they are building my Sarah 300B.  Stradi offers 2 different 300Bs.  I'm considering these along with the WE 300B which the amp was built around.

I'l probably pick up a Stradi 5U4G while I'm at it.

Carlsbad, Good to see your comments and congrats on the Sarah build.   Check with Kamran on how the Stradi 5U4g performs in the Sarah.  He was having a few challenges a while back.  I don’t have a Sarah but I am interested in hearing how people like the Stradi 300b’s.  If you do give them a try keep us posted on how you like them.  I recently switched from Psvane Acme 300b’s to EML 300b’s and I much prefer the EML.  In my 45 Mono amps I tried EML 45’s and they did not did pair well and I did not care for them.
