Which Wood for Sarah 300B?

Hi All - Only a matter of 4 months now as I broke into the 200 mark on the waiting list.

Wondering which wood base I should choose between Cherry and African Padauk. Of course, I've seen samples of each wood, but I've never seen a photo of the 300B in Cherry. Do you have one to post? Much appreciated! BTW, I did order the beautiful copper-plated transformer.

Reply #1 - 05/07/25 at 17:46:05 ZD, since you went all out on the copper-plated transformers, the only choice for your 300B is the African Padauk! At least in my case, it's a great-looking combo. I'm sure the cherry looks good, too. What wood do you have for your other components? Congrats, and enjoy your new amp.

Cherry is a North America wood, too. But almost all my furniture is walnut, so it matches. Honestly, it’s your preference and what fits your space.

Brad Pitt Verified Member Posts: 1	Re: Which Wood for Sarah 300B? Reply #10 - Today at 04:09:06 I personally went with Cherry on my Sarah 300B, and it looks stunning in person, really warm and classic. I haven't seen one in African Padauk, but I've heard it gives a more vibrant, reddish tone.
