adding rectification tube

hi all,

what is entailed in adding a rectification tube instead of the two diodes? how exactly to connect it? is it a worthwhile change?

It is possible, sure.

You would have to use a different power transformer and the rectifier circuit would have to be wired point to point (just four wires to and from the rectifier tube).

I can help with parts and schematic if you're serious about pursuing this.
