today i bought 2kicker solo baric l5 12"  subs and a power acoustic amp that's 850 watts max from a friend and when i hooked it up  i started the car to try it out and the amp light turned on and then dimed out this all happened in 10 sec and then nothing worked please help me i spent a lot of money on this

Were there decent instructions for the installation of this product? Rechecking your work might be a first step in trouble shooting this problem.
I do not like the idea that it took that long for the light to go out though. I would rather just blow a fuse and be done. One word of advice is that if you do find a blown fuse, just changing it out does NOT fix the problem! In fact it could very well cause damage so lets take this a step at a time.
