Biamping Advice

I am currently using 2 bridged SE84UFO2's to drive a pair of DNA2s. In the interest of messing with a good thing, I decided to try biamping with two channels of an Emotiva BASX 7.

I was surprised that the SE84s did not do a good job driving the tweeters. It sounded tiny and Tinny - like a transistor radio, until I brought up the volume on the emotiva driving the "woofers" - at this point it sounded better, but the tweeters were completely overcome.

With the reverse setup - SE84s driving the woofers and the emotiva driving the tweeters, it sounds much better, but still not "as good" as the SE84s alone. What am I missing?

Also, for clarity, I am still running both drivers at full-range, I haven't added any crossover circuit which may be the "issue" to begin with.
