This thread could be an entertaining diversion.
I have an enormous file of old ads to share, if any interest shows.

Great idea.

In my humble opinion the stereo record process is no less impressive than sending man to the moon.  The fact that it works so well is still amazing.

My first stereo record player was a combo all in one unit made by Fisher who were closely located in Long Island City New York. We bought it special order from a catalog in a combination TV repair auto parts store that sold tubes and hobby kits. My father went with me, he added the difference between what I had saved from shoveling snow that winter. I think it cost me around $90.  Before that I had   a Barbie and Ken doll record player made by Emmenee that embarrassed me to no end.

My first Record player a gift from my Nana May, my godmother who worked for the Emenee toy company in the Bronx. Their slogan was “Jumping Jiminy it’s by Emenee”.

Do you like the prices from 1953?

It is surprising Fisher could afford 2 models of the same amp priced only $1.00 apart. For a volume control on a pre amp!
In the mid 60s McIntosh 275 amp was $444.00. Any dealer who discounted lost the brand!
