Betsy Lii8 in parallel with Caintuck Lii15

Steve Deckert has shared some videos which really intrigued my friend Bob Nrab773 and I. He had explained the idea of running the two sets of speakers in parallel. We have not experimented with crossovers yet even though we've heard good things about that. Hard to fathom crossovers after hearing what I would consider breathtaking already to say the least. Regardless, I was blown away. The impact of the bass is chest pounding at higher volumes but the speed and precision of it all combined just took my breath away. The soundstage is huge and the overall impact hits you. I shared a few videos for those interested. The openness, separation and three dimensional air of horns and strings is unparalleled. It really sounds organic.

Wouldn't hooking them up in parallel drop the Ohm load that the amp sees?

As a person who once wired a pair of speakers presenting a 2 Ohm load up to a cheap chip amp as an experiment, well lets say that things got smoking hot really quick.

I'm just pondering and asking....

Hi Donnie,

I believe that you are correct on the impedance .....
However, the Decware Zen amps love a low impedance load.

In the past, I have used the SE84UFO with speakers I was experimenting with that had a 1 ohm impedance and the only result was that the amplifier seemed to make more power .....

I'm sure that a 1 ohm load would be a disaster for a "typical" amplifier .....

Best wishes,
Randy
