Hi,

Is anyone successfully running The Super Zen Triode amp with a REL amplifier using High Level inputs?

I follow REL's the instructions on connecting high-level cables (3 colored wires) to the speaker terminals of the amp, but when I turn on the subwoofer power I get a lot of humming noise. Their advice not to connect the black cable did not help and they are not familiar with the amp to further troubleshoot.

Any advice? Tx.

Run a piece of speaker cable between the two negative speaker connections on the zen. I originally did this on Steve’s advice because I could not get rid of the hum. Worked like a charm!

No effect on the speaker performance at all. I ended up with a piece of wire about 7” long with a banana plug on each side so I could just plug into the top of each negative terminal.

Like you, I had several conversations with REL techs trying to troubleshoot the hum problem. Ultimately it was Steve that came up with the solution.
