Seeburg Jukebox

I had a strange request today from a close friend, did I know anything about Jukeboxes?  Would I please look at one and see if I could get it going?

Well OK, I'm always interested is things that make music, so why not?

Anyway, it is a Seeburg 148 ML "trash can" jukebox that plays 78's.

I haven't seen it yet but in the pics it looks good.
The story is that the speaker is blown, but you know how that goes, it might be a tube or a wire.

So has anyone ever messed with anything like this before? I'm heading up to East Peoria of all places to look at it, and I don't want to look like the total idiot that I truly am in front of my friend.

Any pointers?

....they can be money pits...I used to deal with them a bit when I was antique-ing ....once you get one thing fixed another goes wrong unless you go completely through them from top to bottom...never could get one to sound real good so we just got all the lights working and left it at that ...most people just wanted them sitting in there basement with the lights on and a new stereo system on the other side of room as there music source

This seems like the PERFECT opportunity to hide a tiny radial inside after Donnie gets the lights working Smiley
