Remote control?
05/22/20 at 20:34:30
Hey all,
I'm considering dropping my Freya S for a CSP3 down the road, but I'd miss the remote functionality. I know the ZTPRE has it, but all balanced is a bit of a bummer as that means an additional ZBIT or something to properly use it's connections with a Torii Jr/SE84UFO. So has anybody found a transparent remote solution or have gotten a motorized one done by Steve on these?
Thanks!
- Brandon

Try putting the remote in a different room for a few days. I thought not having a remote would be a deal breaker for me. I’m used to no remote and really don’t mind now. I’ve also gotten better at setting the level I’ll want so less trips to adjust.
More of an issue streaming music. Listening to LPs I don’t even think about it.

Remote control motorized volume controls are designed for standard rack-mount equipment chassis where depth is really not an issue. In a CSP3 and most Decware gear, everything has to fit in a depth of 2 inches since it is mounted on the top. And even if we wanted to mount one through the front, and we don't, there isn 't space inside for such a large control and the required power supply to drive it.
We do have a remote control option available for our Zen Switch Box using a passive 100K motorized stereo control.

Ah! I saw the remote option on the switch box, so I figured it was worth asking. I started with no remote, going back would kinda suck, but also not a deal breaker as I'm fairly certain the CSP3 would make my Freya cry in surrender, even though it's a great SS preamp.

Haha fair enough! I do love my Decware gear more than the rest of what I own. Except the Omega’s. I love those little bastards too!
