Teach Yourself Echolocation!?

I think in some small way, this is sort of what we've been teaching ourselves when we learn to listen into the music and hear spatial cues in the recordings that describe the room the recording was done in.

A good example of this is some of the tracks in Kind of Blue - it's recorded in a large (I believe they said 100' ) room, and you can "hear the corners" as I like to say.

When your listening room is setup well, your walls disappear and the room in the recording overlays your room. We are basically teaching ourselves to echolocate the instruments in the room!

Eric.....ironically just before Decfest I had listened to Andrew Bird’s Echolocation: River and Canyon albums on Tidal. Personally I liked the Canyon Album better. It’s definitely worth a listen, even if you don’t like the violin. He is a musician who is very in tuned to sound. His iconic spinning horns were custom built for him and cost like $28K

That spinning speaker you have is very cool. Yeah Andrew Bird is very talented. He’s apparently a master “ whistler ” ( or something like that). Some of his music I really like and can connect with, and some of it not so much.
