For sale is one pair of Decware DM947 speakers. These have been a great set of speakers for me. I was a long time owner of Klipsch Heritage speakers, but I was always unsatisfied. When I got these, I immediately noticed a coherency I had not heard before. Moreover, the DM947’s have a clear and slightly warm character that work very well with the Decware line of amplifiers.

I initially used a Torii Mk IV to drive the DM947’s, followed by a Pass Labs 30.5, then finally a Pass Labs 30.8. The 947’s really bring out the best in some of these low-wattage amps. More than once I’ve walked away from a $50-60K stereo system feeling perfectly satisfied with what I have been listening to at home.

I used these speakers for a long time without a subwoofer. I had a 12” Klipsch subwoofer that never did match very well with the DM947’s. I always preferred the 947’s by themselves.

Today I have the 947’s paired with an SVS SB16 subwoofer. This sub is amazing, and the only one I’ve listened to that really matches the quality of the DM947’s. Together, they have a full range sound that is rich, detailed, and warm. Good stuff.

I am building a new home and will probably have to put these into storage, which I am not too keen on doing. I’ve got a friend selling a set of speakers I’ve long coveted, and now seems the best time for me to part ways with my DM947’s.

I bought these new about four years ago after a long audition of several different speakers. You can buy these new for about $2200, or you can buy mine for $1199.00. Full disclosure: one of the speakers does have a cosmetic blemish that I am prepared to fully discuss in PM, and partially accounts for my discounted price.
