Cable recommendation?
09/15/18 at 14:52:00

I want to mount the board in an enclosure which means mounting the volume control and binding posts off the board and on the enclosure. Suggestions on the type/size of the cables to do this?

If I understand your question correctly, it seems to me that the cables would have less consideration for this type of mounting. AC cables may pull down from the chassis connection, but RCA cables would not have any trouble with this arrangement.

After reading your post one more time, I think that your question might be about Internal WIRING. If That is the case, then the wire used (Not Cable), is easier to work with if it is stranded. Signal wires can be a silver plated copper, and don't cost that much more than regular hook up wire (22-24 gauge). The AC wire can just be regular copper wire, and can be 16-20 gauge stranded wire.

Yeah, sounds like the OP is talking about wire. I”m doing the same thing with my ZKIT - chassis mounted RCA jacks, attenuator and tube sockets. I bought wire from Parts Connexion (no affiliation - I just bought meters there so also used the site to pick up the wire). Sonic Craft also has good wire. There’s debate whether stranded is easier to use than solid core, though it’s not a huge difference. My only recommendation is not to get Cardas Litz wiring. That stuff is difficult to work with - each strand of wire is individually wrapped on plastic, which means you have to melt it all down before making a connection. Total PIA if you don’t have the right equipment. I went with the Neotech, iirc.
