FS - Rega Saturn R CD player / DAC

I am replacing my Rega Saturn R CD player / DAC with a brand new CEC top loading belt drive transport .....  $$$

The Rega Saturn is a very fine player. I have owned it for a little over a year and it is in excellent condition. It is a top loading unit and the DAC section can be used to convert other digital sources to analog.

There is a lot of information available online and the player is very well reviewed.

Retail price is 2995.00 .... I am asking 1700.00 plus shipping.

I have the original packaging and owner's manual.
If someone would like to save the shipping charges and will be attending the Decware Zen Fest in October, I can bring the player with me.
PM to make purchase arrangements.

Will ship to continental US only.
PayPal accepted and I will pay the fee.

Larger photos here, here and here.

If you have any questions, please send a PM.

Thanks for looking,
Randy

Hi Tim,

Yep ..... I bought a TL5N.
There are three new models above that one, but they are just a little rich for my fixed income pocketbook .....

I previously owned a vintage TL-2 which was hit by lightning and died about 18 months ago. I have been suffering from "top loader belt drive" withdrawal since then.

The Rega really is a superb player ..... the built in DAC is something Rega has been refining for a long time and they have it sounding very, very good. Truthfully, it is probably more "accurate" than the CEC / Camelot Uther combo ..... but there is something about the CEC transport that really floats my boat.

I'm not sure if it's the timing or something else, but it is different than any other type of transport for sure. CEC claims that it's more "analog" sounding than other transports. I will leave that claim to the golden ears ..... but it works for me.

I am corresponding with the importer with the possibility that Caintuck Audio might become a reseller for the CEC products ..... we will see what the future holds ..... but the thought of offering 350.00 to 500.00 loudspeakers with a CD transport that costs as much as an automobile (the TL0n) appeals to my warped sense of humor .....

Best wishes,
Randy
