Grounding ?
08/02/17 at 13:06:23

Board & metal chassis complete & just want to check on grounding procedure.....mains green to chassis & board ground to same lug. This mean volume control cases would be grounded but I have RCA inputs floating....does this sound correct?

Thanks for your help,

Steve

If you use the board ground as a common ground for everything you should have no problems. That means the input jacks will be grounded to the boards ground and the the boards ground will be grounded to the chassis which is in turn grounded to earth through the IEC connector's ground lug.

The volume control case needs to be grounded to shield the internal parts from noise.  You can ground this to the chassis or the audio ground.  Experiment with both and see which is quieter.
