Several Caintuck Audio customers (who have also become friends) got together yesterday for an informal audio fest.
Paul (from Cincinnati) hosted the event and the other attendees were Roger (Louisville, KY), Matt (Alexandria, KY), my buddy Rob (Columbus, OH) and me.
We had an absolute blast .....
Paul has a very nice listening room in an older home with high ceilings and the sound was really, really good.
Included in Paul's audio system are Decware Rachel and Decware Torii amplifiers which both sound superb driving the Betsy baffles.
For a fact, not too many folks will be powering Betsy baffles with a Torii amp, but the results are amazing ..... with a lot of "meat on the bones" tonally and Paul's Betsy baffles sure didn't sound like a pair of 450.00 loudspeakers .....
One of the best things about gatherings like this is sharing new music.
Our little group has a wide variety of musical tastes and we are in a wide variety of age groups and backgrounds ..... so each time we get together it "broadens our musical horizons".
Some of the music we listened to (and all highly recommended) .....
Colter Wall
Colter Wall
Dominic Miller
Silent Light
Yo Yo Ma / Chris Thile / Edgar Meyer
Bach Trios
Richard Stoltzman
The Essential Clarinet
Patsy Cline
12 Greatest Hits on Decca
Dave Alvin & Phil Alvin
Common Ground
After the get together ended, I went home and ordered all of those CDs.
We have plans to get together again in September at Matt's home and that should get us revved up for the Decware Zen Fest 2017 in October .....
Happy listening,
Randy
