Tripwr1964 Seasoned Member Posts: 435	new ufo2 05/20/17 at 15:22:05 working this baby into my ht/2ch. have to say i've only got 2-3hrs on it, and it's fantastic!! feeding it with oppo 103 anolog out. plan to try my bifrost dac next. but this thing is pretty damn impressive just the way it is. wow. got a couple alpha15's from parts express coming too

yeah really starting to open up and sound beautiful (or i just had all my ear wax blown out at the indy yesterday!).

i've tried several combo's of OB mid/sub with these and ended up with just a single alpha 15a in a 1.5" baffle powered by gallo sa crossing over ~100Hz no boost. i tried 2x and in tombstone 3/4" baffles also. for my room and setup 1x in the 1.5" baffles seems to do the trick!

seems to be a pretty nice combo and works well for HT too.

just need a little gain here and there and i think i'll be 100% happy. ordered a used zstage of ebay.... give that a whirl.

Tripwr1964 Seasoned Member Posts: 435	Re: new ufo2 Reply #5 - 06/16/17 at 17:13:07 been playing with a zstage last couple weeks and while it does what it's suppose to, i prefer it not in the signal chain. i like the sound of the ufo2 on it's own. now this may have had something to do with my tube selection, ic's, or power cord... the time it would take to optimize wasn't worth the little gain.
