Safe to run headphones without speakers attached?

Going to be between speakers for a bit while I wait to take delivery of my new ones. I was wondering is if safe to just run the MT as a headphone amp with no speakers attached?  

I'm assuming the headphone jack as attached to the output of the transformers paralleled to the binding posts with a resistor to bring down to level (or maybe not!) and a such attaching a 32 Ohm headphone would be a safe load for the amp without my normal 8 Ohm speakers attached.

I'm doing the same thing with my set up. The MT is build to used with or without speakers connected. Can't explain how it works, but asked Steve about it.
