Vibration Isolation Help

So I am in the process of updating my setup. We just moved to a new place, so my listening room has changed quite a bit. The biggest change was from a concrete slab to a suspended wood floor (over a crawlspace).

I have (will have soon) a very minimalist setup. ZP3, Torii Jr, HR-1, Thorens TD-150 Hot Rod.

Well... the Thorens is especially susceptible to foot traffic, causing the needle to skip. I would like to eliminate this, I would use a wall mount shelf but there is trim molding around the room making this challenging/impossible.

As far as room improvements go, I put a huge area rug with an 8 pound carpet pad underneath it, that helped sound quality quite a bit.

I still need to add some absorption to remove the ringing in the room. This will be done with audio absorbing canvas prints. (Aesthetic is a big component in this room as its on the first floor of our home).

I was looking into Ginkgo Cloud, Mapleshapes, or Herbies Tenderfeet as a starting point. Not sure if anyone has experience with these specifically for foot traffic vibration issues, not just isolation.

Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

The best isolation device I have every used with my turntable is the PS Audio PowerBase. Yes, ridiculously expensive, but you can usually find one for half price if you look. Not only is the isolation from airborne and structural vibration damned good, but the electrical isolation helps my Rega RP3 with TTPSU a lot.

Thanks Lon! That is an interesting idea, I will take a look.

I think moving to a different table that is not a suspension design would be a sound first step.

I know you have an RP3, have you ever listened to a VPI Scout? I am looking at those two now.

With the upgrades I have into the Thorens I might be able to swing it for almost a wash.

No sorry Ron, no experience with VPIs. I have not had that much experience with 21st century turntables. I used Garard, Technics, and B&O turntables into the early 'nineties and then abandoned the medium til about six years ago, did some research and followed a recommendation for the Rega and have been very happy.
