Anyone have experience with line vs. point source and want to weigh in?

I have always enjoyed Magnepans...our local audio shop carries them.  Great detail and scale, don't have the pin point imaging of my system and require lots of power.  

I heard a Scaena line source at Axpona one year.  It think it was the most detailed speaker I have ever heard.  With all those drivers, each one probably wasn't working too hard (low distortion).  I think I was wowed by the detail and have no sense at all for imaging.   I do remember the sweet spot being quite a bit wider than my system.
