Buying a new cartridge

If you don't have a local dealer, who have you all be buying your cartridges from on line? I have a some what local guy but not really interested in spending 2K+ on a cart with him. I would like to keep it between 500.00 and 1k. Looking at an AT-OC9mkIII up to Ortofon Black. Open to suggestions on carts and dealers. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks and happy listening, Chris.

I bought my Ortofon Kontrapunkt b from William Thakker in Germany. Since the Kb is discontinued, I didn't have a lot of options but he sells current carts too and well below what the "Authorized Dealers" charge. You likely don't get the product service but it's hard to pay so much more -- for me anyway.

Right now my next cart would be another Kb or a Kc if I can find one or an Ortofon Cadenza Black, but they are sky high! I don't think I'd go back to MM carts.

I will look at WT's website this weekend and do some digging. Thanks Archie.
