OA3 Tube Flash at Shutdown

Hi All! I have a 3 month old ZP3 and am loving it. Sounds great! Was wondering if anyone else has my issue. After I turn the power off the OA3 tube will flash about 15 times. I tried a new tube...and it does the same thing. Both are NOS. My only experience with tube amps is the Tori MIV and I've never seen such a thing. Is this bad... normal... something I should talk to Steve about???

mark58 Seasoned Member Posts: 5647	Re: OA3 Tube Flash at Shutdown Reply #1 - 01/11/15 at 17:46:29 Paul, I also have a ZP3 and use a Nos 1950's RCA OA3. When I shut it down, the OA3 does stay on for a little while before going dark. I've never given it any thought...I think it's normal. Mark.

My OA3 in the ZP3 flashes on shut down also. First time I saw that I counted and it seemed to be every second (1001, 1002 etc) till about 8 flashes and it stopped. I remembered Steve's comment in the manual and figured it was the caps letting go. This phono stage is amazing. I had to go back to my old Shinon Red LMC when the Alpha Genesis failed and it mates up SO well with the ZP3, totally floored. Don't worry about the flashing.
