New Tubes..... sweet!!

I just got a pair of GE EL34 big bottles. They are very sweet, I like them. They aren't matched however and I wonder how much of a problem that is? I would like to find a matched pair as well.

Are you using those tubes in a push-pull PP or in a single ended SE tube amp?

Output tubes should be matched in a pp amp.

For SE designs, it is not a major issue as compared with the above-mentioned Pp amp.

It's a Racheal. I know it is self biasing but I just didn't know if it still made any performance issue.

Do you detect channel imbalance with your ears?  Mono material may be helpful in that regard.

If not, I wouldn't worry. "If it sounds good. . .it is good."
