6P15P running DC filaments
10/19/13 at 16:08:47

There is much ado on various sites about the pros and cons of running tube filaments on DC. Some say no worries, others say bad idea, and some say depends on the amplifiers design. Simple question, can the filaments of the Zkit 6P15P tubes and the input tube be operated on DC with no ill effects?

Thanks

Steve

Hello Steve,

have you found an answer to this question? I have received suggestions in this sense from Elli Duttman of DIYaudio and am lost as to how to implement a 75v biasing off the B+ Smiley Or something like that Smiley   Alternatively  I suppose I could attach the heater CT to the output tube cathode, but boy am I insecure about that
Thanks
