I am fooling around with an old circuit that I want to replace the power supply capacitors. As it turns out, I saw a 'kit' on the web that supplies all the capacitors for this circuit(electrolytics to be exact). The supplier reccomends replacing 1000 uf caps with the supplied 330 uf caps for the power supply. I asked him why he would use lower value caps instead of equivelant or higher value caps and he believed that this particular size was 'right' because after auditioning numerous sizes, this one sounded best. Does that make sense to the knowledgable techs out there? Also, the output capacitor is being substituted with a bi-polar cap. hmmmm.
