CSP2 - user adjustable output voltage (Read 8430 times)

MAC -SteveH Ex Member	CSP2 - user adjustable output voltage 07/30/06 at 15:19:29 How do you go about adjusting this. I'm thinking - put and RCA with pigtails into each output and connect a VOM to adjust the output DC voltage. Is it that easy? Tnx, Steve

Posts: 6445	Re: CSP2 - user adjustable output voltage Reply #1 - 07/30/06 at 23:05:13 It is that easy provided you have a sine wave generator set to an output level of 2 volts at a frequency of 1000 Hz. I set them up here at the shop for 4 volts out with 2 volts in. Note this does not effect headphone output level. Steve

Posts: 6445	Re: CSP2 - user adjustable output voltage Reply #3 - 07/31/06 at 23:06:35 If the Chip amp is clicking, that means it's probably going into protection. Some type of oscillation perhaps? I'll see if I can duplicate it on this end. You might inspect the input portion of the chip amp and see if there is a cap to ground limiting the high frequency response of the input.

If anyone wants to calibrate the CSP2 to have perfectly matched channels like we set it up here at the shop, I forgot to mention that a TEST CD with a 1000 Hz test tone will work in place of a frequency generator. Simply use an AC voltmeter on the outputs and adjust both channels to match. Of course a person could also step into the listening position and adjust one side or the other to obtain a strong center image.
