Title: SE84 Monoblocks in 2008
Post by Ghostship on 07/18/25 at 02:04:42

Am I correct in that the 2008 version of the SE84 Mono's did not have UFO transformers or the CCE mod?

If I purchased a used pair, would sending them in for those upgrades in addition to Level 1 & 2 Anniversary parts (basically turning the 2008 version into a 2025 SE84UFO3) make for extensive mods that would probably be cost-prohibitive?

Why do I get the feeling as I type this that I'm answering my own question.....

You'd be into them for a big fat grip. Might as well scoop up that pair of 2.1's that Sarah just listed. Might even be consecutive serial numbers if lucky for extra cool points.

Here’s the price list

Sarah is great at answering questions about that list.

Assuming you're talking about the pair on usaudiomart? the add states they have the UFO transformer upgrade already. A question I would have the seller confirm I guess. Nice looking pair as I'm a fan of the white tops.

Another poster, Dominick, aka Dom has old Zen amps that he upgraded to current UFO specs. Here is his story:

As I recall it wasn't cheap to do the upgrade, but less than buying new amps.
