Title: Tube Adapters - Custom Made
Post by Sai on 03/29/24 at 13:07:14

Came across this person on the Head-Fi forum Classifieds. Apparently, he hand makes custom tube adapters. Says he can make anything and seems to have some pretty good reviews on Head-Fi from the comments in the classified post.

I highly recommend Deyan, he has made several adapters for me and he is excellent.

Thanks for the confirmation CAJames! Yeah, will be ordering from Deyan in the near future. Thinking of a set of TT21 GEC tubes that need an anode connector wire to work at KT88 in the near future…. Maybe that might be the first thing I ask of Deyan…

I’ve heard of Deyan’s excellent rep as well but haven’t had the opportunity to do business with him yet.

Anyone have experience with pulse tube store for adapters and socket savers?

Hi Rhtubes, I’ve come across them in the past. Good quality adapters for sure. I bought a set of Octal tube socket savers from a fellow Decware member and we think that they might have come from this store.

FYI/FWIW I hadn't done any business with Deyan in a couple years but ordered some adapters just before this thread happened. They arrived today and they are super nice, so order with confidence.

Thanks James for the update. I wanted Deyan to make my adapters in brass, and he sent pictures today of the finished order. They look great, but hearing that you are liking your most recent order is good news.

Just got an adapter for 5Z3 to 5AR4 (4 pin to Octal). Man they’re so beautiful! And work perfectly!

Deyan's brass socket savers arrived.  They are well built, substantial and look great.

Wow, these look great—better than any other socket savers I’ve seen.

Tony, I’m curious how these fit with the UFO25. Is the diameter of the socket savers small enough for them to seat nicely between the mounting screws on the socket? I bet the brass looks beautiful against the patina green.

Hi LB, before they arrived, I worried if they would fit with regards to the screws at the tube socket bases of the UFO25. Thankfully, the fit is perfect. I will know the answer to that same question regarding Sarah next February-March. I can attest that the 7DJ8, 6P15P, and 5U4G tube positions fit nicely on the UFO25.

That’s great to hear! Most of the adapters I have now sit on top of the screws. I was able to dremel out a notch in the Bakelite adapters, but not for the metal ones, This would be much cleaner.
