Title: What would you do... If...
Post by HellionDarklord on 06/23/23 at 01:18:44

I have made 3D models of the dual folded horns that I thought I was going to make. I spent $1300.oo on drivers and a guitar amp for my guitar. ALAS!!! My caregiver told me that if I spend any more money on 'speaker stuff' that he was going to kick me out.

I want to make mass produced sub enclosures for sales at CarTOys. I need to know how I can get this done without spending any more money. I have four SKAR VD-8 D4 drivers that sound really good with my guitar amp and no box.

First lets look at the Infra-Bass sub I call Infra-Bass THunder...  6.99ft of folded horn and infra-bass speaker together.IT is here

What would you do if you wanted to trade the sub designs for a car at @Car TOys and couldn't have income without messing up my disability income. I can do trades though. I don;t know how too get what I want.

Thanks for any help!!!

The Infra-Bass Thunder is based off the Wicked One 32 and an outdated patent for the 'Graham Holliman Velocity-Coupled Infra-Bass Speaker'

The PDF is here https://patentimages.storage.googleapis.com/7d/43/05/8700aabd258b78/GB2037534A.pdf

I removed Y from the patent boxes and turned X' into a folded horn. I kept X and V almost the same. I want to fill the sealed...V...enclosure with batting so that it acts like a larger volume and is only 3.4 instead of 3.5ft like recommended by SKAR Audio on their website.. They say that they are not building custom boxes anymore I hope I can get these built. You have to look at the patent to see the difference between X and X' in the Graham Holliman Infra-Bass Speaker patent.

Next we have Rolling Thunder, 18.4ft of folded horn. (9.2ft from one side throat to the mouth.)  That is here : https://skfb.ly/oHNIM

Thanks

O just did the math... 1/4 wave is exactly 9.4 ft at30hz!! I have two of these doubled up and folded  in the Rolling Thunder!!!. (I'm assuming that they folded horn acts like two horns and functin like an 18ft horn...)

not done wrong... I trusted God and without any measurements on the air which happens to be 1130... so 1130 divided by 30 is 37.666... then 37.666 divided by 4 for the 1/4 wave is 9.41666. That's .2 longer than the horn I made. God must have had me in mind while I designed this horn. ::)

I didn't know how to  calculate the horn length until I saw this video on transmission lines.
