There are 2090 people on the waiting list right now...I have a feeling that number will increase a little in the coming days... ;D

That's about the same number of ghosts on the ship. j/k.

Do you already have a Zen Sarah or are you on the waiting list?

It amazes me how long the list has gotten. Will Decware customers hang on that long? I think those of us with Decware components already will. . . but new customers. . . ?  I'm not sure that if I were a new customer I would hang in there on the list long enough to get an amp. There are many more immediate options. We KNOW what we're waiting for. . . but a newbie?

Well, Uncle Lon. I recall being sucked into the Decware vortex in 2006 after buying a piece of gear used from an eBay auction. I sent it in for repair and eventually sold it. The first piece of gear I bought new from the factory was a white topped Taboo.

My Sarah arrived Monday! My tubes haven't arrived yet though....

Jim, now more than ever the rare used Decware piece is the gateway drug.

I’ll be 77 in a couple of months and a 3 yr wait is just an unrealistic wait list and I have a lot of Decware gear. A couple of amps, preamp etc. Since I didn’t feel I could be at a point in my life to enjoy the Sarah I moved to another master builder and it’s great. Which would be better I’ll never know.

Lon, you have no idea!! I was sooo patient during the 600-day wait....

But I ordered tubes at the last minute and was informed of the delay, so I called Sarah for the Decware bundle. Now I've got my Sarah sitting here and I have to wait until Friday to fire her up, while listening to Steve Guttenburg's review...grrrrrr

I totally feel your pain. I've had that happen to me with other components. It's so frustrating!

I still have probably about 100 or more days to wait for my SEWE300B (#165) and I have all the tubes necessary on hand--in fact multiple multiple choices of all but the 300B tubes themselves--ready to pop in when it arrives. So. . . a different problem. I'm trying to be as patient as you as the wait continues.

Uncle Lon, Ghostship:

I don't understand something. I see mention of a 600 day wait but Ghostship has his amp already. The 300B is a 2023 release. How did he get his amp in less than 2-3 years?

Jim,

He probably put in an early amp order and changed it to the Sarah 300B at a later date.

Yes, as far as I know one can't ADD to an order now but can still make a CHANGE from one component to another before the order reaches the Parts Pulled stage.

I made a change yesterday. At first I didn't believe I wanted the copper transformer caps. But looking at the photos and looking from my listening seat at where the SEWE300B will be housed at a future date. . . I realized they would be clearly visible and are definitely. . . beautiful.

Yes, I placed my order for a Zen Torii Jr. V2 amp on August 2nd, 2021, specifically attempting to coordinate wattage output with my intended speakers.

Then, I changed my choice of speakers, and after monitoring the build thread for the Zen Torii Mk5 I changed my order.

Then I received my speakers paired with a Class A amp and realized 1 to 2 watts is all I needed in my listening space.

Then, Steve announced he was designing a 300B amp - which is exactly what I wanted from the beginning...so I changed my order one last time, before the Zen Sarah SEWE300B was available for sale on the website.

How fortunate. You must promise to regale everyone with your impressions/experiences with the amplifier.

I am tempted to pull the transformer covers from my mini Torii and have them copper plated!

watching that review I wondered what Guttenberg might hear differently if he listened to the Sarah in the Decware listening room through the various Lii Audio speakers as apposed to his Pure Audio open backs ??
