Subject says it all! Time to graduate from a restored Harmon Kardon A300 integrated.

Been looking on USAM, audiogon, etc and thought I'd put the word out here as well.

NYC area is ideal but not necessary

I have neither the patience nor the budget for the waiting list ;D

I also have no investment in this sale (above) except that I bought the CSP 2+ from the same guy managing the estate sale out of SF. It is a legit offering.

thank you both. I did see this posting over the weekend.

From what I can tell these amps don't come up for sale very often, but I'm not sure this is the one for me. I think I'd prefer a Gen II or Gen III version, or at least an upgraded Gen I---especially at the price listed.

I'm also not a fan of the black base, but I assume replacements can be purchased for less $ than sending a stock Gen I amp in for a bunch of upgrades.

I am not sure this would make a difference for you on this amp, but the seller was open to price negotiating on the preamp I bought. I countered, and he accepted. It was an easy sell for him as I am close to SF and could pick it up. I thought I would mention it.

I am awaiting a call back from Decware about the cost of a replacement wood base.

I may make an offer. Any advice out there about what a fair price is for a stock gen I mini torii? But, man, I would really prefer to find something local like you did. Shipping tube gear from SF to NY makes me more than a little nervous.

"Be patient" vs "Snooze=Lose" arghhhh.

I bought a different wood base before. I would guess you are looking at two hundred - maybe a little less. I have a Torii MKIV, and it is a monster to ship. This amp is less so.

Good luck, and enjoy the process - it's nerve-wracking but can also be fun.

Happy to report that a Mini Torii will be arriving next month. I still have some time to decide on a tube phonostage to complement it. No ZP3 located yet, and I'm considering a Mapletree 3E, but remain open to any suggestions.

Yeah man you did it. That Mapletree stuff seems really good. They make all kinds of things such as headphone, amps, line stages, etc. I don’t think there is well known as Decware is.

It was my understanding that Clayton was a deceased audiophile whose things were being sold by a do-gooder to benefit his family. The equipment was nice, but it was old and the prices were very high.

Both Mini Torii and ZP3 were found, along with several other helpful people suggesting alternatives. Thanks to all who assisted in the search.

Unfortunately I have to delay my upgrades due to a medical issue. I suddenly went deaf in my right ear last month and it's still not back to normal. Hope to get this sorted out soon and will re-post when the time is right.
