Don Sachs Model 2 Preamp in cherry wood. While this preamp can be used with either a tube or solid state power amp, it is optimized for use with a tube power amp with Miflex .47uf caps on output #2 and 2.7uf Clarity caps on output #1. Output #1 can be connected to a powered subwoofer or a solid state power amp. Output #2 can connect to any tube power amp and will also work with solid state amps that have 50k input impedance or greater. Film caps in the power supply. All signal path wiring and 3 of the 5 inputs have been upgraded with Cryoed Jupiter 4N cotton insulated wire. Nice metal remote control. Comes with 4 Shuguang 6SN7 tubes that test and sound great. Preamp can use either 6BY5 or 6X5 rectifiers; included is a Tungsol VT126B 6X5, along with a GE 6X5GT and an RCA 6BY5GA. Front left and right gain controls are disconnected for shorter signal path. Tape in and out jacks are not connected; per Don he used an older back panel after he stopped providing tape monitor switches on the front panel.

I used this preamp for a while with my Torii Mk IV, and it was terrific, and completely different than my CSP3.

Why am I selling? I currently have Atma-Sphere M60 amps and finally lucked into the matching MP-3 preamp. As good as the Don Sachs is, the MP-3 was a better match, and I can't afford to keep the Model 2. I'm happy to answer any questions, and I'm open to offers. This is a great preamp; you won't be disappointed.

I’m glad you were able to get this thing going. Someone will be happy. I built an SP-14 and like it quite a bit. I can imagine Don’s build is levels better.

It's a great preamp, and I've tried a bunch of them. Just happy someone else will be able to enjoy it now. The used stereo equipment market is so much fun!
