Title: Knight KN 809 Speakers
Post by Mannytheseacow on 08/27/22 at 23:37:06

When I bought my home I inherited a slew of Knight KN809 speakers with it. Anyone have any first-hand knowledge or experience with them? I’ve turned up some google results on them but wondering if any knowledgeable ears have experience with them?
It wouldn’t take much to make some simple open baffles but my to-do list is long and I don’t want to waste my time if they’re not worth it.
Cheers.

I inherited a pair of Knight speakers from my late first wife's aunt that were surprisingly still in great shape even though I think they were originally built in the early 'sixties. They were a full range single driver in a very tight box, not exactly bookshelf speakers, just a bit bigger. They actually had a nice sound, tight and accurate, bass-shy but not shrill. The drivers might fare well in an open baffle form--I have no experience with open baffle speakers. As they are birds in hand. . . maybe you can try a test flight.

Very cool, Ed. Thanks for sharing that. Doesn’t look like the 809 was anything special but still will be fun to play with when I get some spare time.
Man, I miss catalogs like that. As much as the internet gives us I used to learn so much just from studying all the different parts available in these kinds of catalogs.
