Title: Speaker Stand Recommendations
Post by ChrisC on 08/10/22 at 01:35:42

I have a pair of Omega CAMs (16"H x 12"W x 8.5"D) and am in search of stands to place them on.  Suggestions?

Thx,

ChrisC

Why not build your own? I just made a pair for my new speakers. They came out awesome!

I was actually going to post something similar.
Or maybe commission someone to build something cool you design yourself.

Most of the prefab speaker stands look to me like something you could grab at a truck stop somewhere or from a Dollar store.
Even getting into the higher grade markets, most of them look like milking stools that would tip over.

Build your own!

Donnie made some really nice looking ones. He might share info.

I went for a heavy design based on what I read about better acoustics. 3/4” birch plywood top and bottom with solid 4x4 supports. For dampening purposes(and I have no idea if it would actually do anything), I put thin rubber pads between top board and supports. Then screwed down. Entire stand just sits atop 4 rubber isolation pads.
